New Star of India

It is quiet an experience to watch the next-door boys and girls turning into celebrities in 4 months time!


Loud exchange of words, quick jokes, teasing and laughter filed the air. Twenty aspiring young talents wait abated to meet and dance with their favorites star. Thousand two hundred pair of eyes throw excitement to write history. The famous Ramoji film city the proud venue is dressing up for the landmark project of a new car entrant in India.


Taal famous director Ahmed Khan and veteran cinematographer Ravi K Chandran are getting busy to direct 20 young raw talents selected through Facebook.

Shoot begins with the much expected fun and fanfare with Ranbir Kapoor dancing along with 32 same color hatchback car for a change. The car dancing, a first of its kind in bollywood film was breathless.
Japanese car maker yet again proved that they stand out with the innovation and excitement even in reaching out to their patrons. The idea was sketched to shoot a crowd sourced bollywood film using social media. With out missing on the bollywood essentials such as love, romance, action, climax, people and 20 co-stars and the 32 cars.

The car company floated the audition announcement using Facebook again a first of its kind in October 2011. Alas, this got the young adults in Facebook excited. Who would want to miss the opportunity to get close to their rock star Ranbir and relish their dream of being a bollywood star?

2500 video entries were uploaded from various parts of India. Ranbir and Ahmed Khan took ideas from Facebook fans to fine tune the plot, select the co-stars, costumes and venue of shooting. 20 people came out in colors after being chosen to share the screen space with Ranbir. Every one in Facebook page of the Japanese car company emerged winners with 20 people becoming the co-stars and some even drove home Micra cars winning short and easy online test drive contest.

Yet another first of its kind, the car’s dancing to the tunes of bollywood stole many hearts. The sturdy car could well be awarded best supporting actor award! Interviews with backstage celebrities, visuals of 20 co-stars were published online-created quiet a happy stir among the fans.
